Visual Merchandising
The tasks of the skill category Visual merchandising are based on the objectives and assessment criteria of the Vocational Qualification in Arts and Design. The qualification title of the basic qualification is artisan. The module of visual merchandising can also be a part of the vocational qualification in business.
Qualification holders may work indicated by their competence area for example in the sector of artistic industry or trade, manufacture and display of products or guidance activities.

Description of the skill category
The Visual merchandising is based on the requirements and criteria of ”Excellent” in the Vocational qualification in Arts and Design.
The competition tasks of the Visual merchandising correlate with the objectives and assessment criteria for the grade “Excellent” in the study programme of artisan of the vocational qualification in arts and design. The module of visual merchandising can also be a part of the vocational qualification in business. The task is to implement an experientially rich, commercial and aesthetic high-quality display and/or campaign, considering topicality, styles and trends.
The competitor uses work and communication equipment of visual merchandising and application programs. The competitor also observes the re-use of materials s/he used. For the displays s/he implemented, the competitor produces supporting material corresponding with the brand and applies the display technique of visual merchandising. The competitor knows how to evaluate his/her own work and is able to co-operate in various interaction situations.
The Visual merchandising is an individual competition, but one of the competition tasks can also be carried out pairwise.
Skill requirements
The skill requirements of the skill category are: following the business idea of the target group and company, visual skills, implementing a commercial and experientially rich display, producing the customer information, work safety and ergonomics and mastering the working process.
